Utah in Top Ten in Percentage of Students Passing AP Exams

SALT LAKE CITY - With nearly one out of five high school students earning college credit by passing advanced placement (AP) tests, Utah ranked 10th in the nation for percentage of public high school students passing AP exams in 2009, according to the 6th annual AP Report to the Nation released today

This years Crystal Apple Award goes to Miss Shoni Winkel, Second grade teacher at Art City Elementary. Shoni grew up in Nyssa, Oregon where she graduated from Nyssa High School.

On Wednesday, January 27, the Crystal Apple Award at Goshen Elementary was given to Mrs. Julie Parkin. This is Julie's second year teaching sixth grade at Goshen Elementary. Julie has four kids and is known to some as the yard sale queen.

Each year the Kids Cause Board chooses to honor a few individuals who help make wonderful things happen for children. Bonnie Palmer, former Nebo School Board member, presented the Kids Cause award to Dr. Traer Caywood.
