Governor Orders Flags Lowered for September 11

In honor of the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, and as a tribute to the heroes who came to their country's aid, Governor Gary R. Herbert has ordered all flags on state-owned facilities to be flown at half-staff on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012.

Another Chance at Nationals -- Chris Wright

Chris Wright, one of Nebo School District’s excellent auto and diesel mechanics won first place at Utah’s Association of Public Transportation state competition. Winning the state title is not new to Chris.

Special Education Preschool Teacher Receives KOSY Award

Sharon Foster, a special education preschool teacher at Cherry Creek Elementary, was nominated and selected as a KOSY 106.5 Teacher Recognition Award recipient. Ms. Foster was nominated by Eileen Tew, a parent of one of her students.

What Went Right on the First Day of School

Yesterday was the first day of school for more than 30,000 Nebo School District students, and a few things did not go perfectly. Some student IDs were incorrectly printed, a few buses ran behind, and no doubt almost every student, parent and teacher had something not go right.

In August, two Nebo School District students, Amy Rachel Paulson and Ahnika Belle White, and teacher, Rock White, took part in a Musical Theatre concert performance in Salt Lake City called "Making Magic-Defying Gravity". 

Salem Junior High Ribbon Cutting

Salem Junior High held its ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, August 17, 10:00 a.m. Principal Suzanne Kimball welcomed future students, Salem City officials, state representatives, Nebo School District personnel, school employees, and parents.

Science Teacher Selected for National Institute

Veteran science teacher, Karen Cloud of Mt. Nebo Junior High, spent over two weeks of this summer in Gaithersberg, Maryland, participating in the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Summer Institute for Middle School Science Teachers.
