The warm days of September are a perfect time to hold a benefit golf tournament. MHTN Architects held their First Annual Client Appreciation Charity Golf Tournament at Thanksgiving Point a couple of weeks ago. Nebo School District sent a golf team consisting of Tim Braithwaite, former Superintendent Chris Sorensen, Dave McKee, and Ron Jensen.

Dennis Cecchini, Chief Executive Officer of MHTN, announced that the Nebo School District team won the entire tournament and, therefore, were able to choose their favorite charity to receive a donation. Nebo Education Foundation received a check for $3,000.

Chris responded, “Our thanks to MHTN for this great event that is even better with our team being able to win this $3,000 for the Nebo Education Foundation.”

These donated funds will support awarded grants in Nebo schools. These grants can consist of needed items such as musical instruments, technology, science equipment, math tools, reading books and much more.

The Nebo Education Foundation meets the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 a.m. to discuss the submitted educational grants for students in Nebo School District. One of the goals of the foundation is to fund worthwhile projects in the district that provide resources to enrich student learning.

“The foundation could not provide these grants without the help of our generous public. The foundation is grateful to so many charitable donors that make the foundation possible. This is what the foundation is all about—to give our students the best educational opportunity possible through classroom grants,” said Lana Hiskey, Nebo Education Foundation Executive Director.

The Nebo Education Foundation functions through generous donations made by individuals and businesses.  The Foundation helps Nebo School District students to an enriched education.  Anyone interested in the Nebo Education Foundation or who wish to make a donation for education is encouraged to contact Lana Hiskey by e-mail lana.hiskey@nebo.edu, by phone 801-354-7400, or mail 350 South Main, Spanish Fork, UT 84660.
