SFHS Skills USA Team Place High in Competitions by Emily Bararington Skills USA team members went to the competition this last week. There were many that traveled there and did well.

Some of the students that did really well up there were Chet Harmer and Shon Tomadakis. Chet Harmer placed 3rd in Automotive Dent Repair and Shon Tomadakis placed 2nd in Automotive Refinishing. Those who competed in the Automotive Dent Repair had to write an estimate, fix and repair dents, and repair plastic bumbers. The competitiors in the Automotive Refinishing had
to mask off a car, write an estimate for a wrecked car, and paint a panel. All who went tried hard and had a good time. Shon said about the experience, "I had tons of fun competing at Skills USA, and I wish I could compete next year." Shon and Chet are both seniors so this was their last time to be able to compete at Skills USA. Chet Harmer received a $500.00 for Weber State,
$1,000.00 for UTI, and $50.00 gift cards.

Korbyn Seamons placed 4th also in Collision Repair Technology. Marvin Mancia placed 5th in Automotive Refinishing. Kaleb Davis finished 4th in Photography and J.Ryan Partridge placed 8th in Welding. The Welding Fabrication Team with Lgoan Mellor, Waylon Pritchett, and Brooks Weirick came in 6th place. Dillan Hales also placed in wood working.
