The Nebo School Board appointed Ty Stevenson as the Assistant Principal of Maple Grove Middle School.

Ty earned his Bachelor’s Degree in History Education from Utah Valley University and his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Southern Utah University.

Ty has been employed by Nebo School district for seven years, beginning his career as a Social Studies teacher at Mapleton Junior High for six years. He then served as the Dean of Students at Springville High for the past year.

A colleague said, “Ty has a keen ability to communicate clearly and to project an open, friendly persona to others. He has a positive outlook on education and employs student-focused strategies in the classroom. He is especially concerned about the students who struggle; he helps them understand with extraordinary patience. All of his students know how much he cares about them and their success in and out of the classroom.”

Ty’s personal motto comes from Teddy Roosevelt, "Believe you can and you're halfway there. Positive thinking and positive energy go a long way. If you believe that you can be successful or accomplish something in life, that is a step in the right direction! Positive energy and hard work are a recipe for success.

Ty is married to Mattie Stevenson and together they have a son.  He loves spending time outside, camping, boating, hiking, and side-by-side rides.  He loves baseball and has learned numerous life lessons through the game.  He also enjoys golfing with his dad, brothers, and in-laws.
