Nebo Academy (Professional Development)

What is it?

Courses sponsored by Nebo School District. Conveniently Local. Geared toward the specific needs and learning environments of Nebo School District.

New Teacher Mentoring

What is it?

A new teacher is more likely to be successful if they have the guidance of a tenured teacher. Nebo School District's Mentoring program provides this assistance. Praxis II

What is it?

To be certified to teach in most U.S. states, one must earn qualifying scores on all parts of the Praxis I and certain Praxis II Content Area Assessments. Nebo School District offers assistance with a Praxis Prep class.

Utah Teaching Observation Tool (UTOT)

What is it?

The Utah Effective Teaching Standards articulate what effective teaching and learning look like in the Utah public education system. The Standards are based upon the concepts adopted by the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) in the Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC). The Standards align with the teaching skills needed to successfully teach the Utah Core Standards. The Utah Teaching Observation Tool is based on the Utah Effective Teaching Standards and is the official evaluation tool for certified educators in Nebo School District.

What is it?

Courses sponsored by Utah Education Network. Includes some online courses, and classroom learning, designed to help teachers improve.

PBS TeacherLine

What is it?

Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, TeacherLine is pioneering a new and innovative model for on-demand, high quality, and standards-based teacher professional development. The online courses are facilitated by trained educators. Visit the national PBS TeacherLine site for course schedules and costs.
