Are you looking for a summer job? Are you at least 15 years old? Would you like the opportunity to earn some money without using up all of your summer vacation? If your answers are yes, then Payson Fruit Growers is looking to hire you.
Payson Fruit Growers has been processing tart cherries, grown in the Payson, West Mountain, Santaquin, and Genola areas since the early 1960s. Our crop size has increased over the years, until now we harvest and pack upwards of 30 million pounds of cherries. We are the largest tart cherry producer west of the Mississippi.
Every year we recruit workers to help with the processing of our harvest, which begins in mid July, and runs 3 to 4 weeks in the summer. Beginning wages for 2021 start at $10.50 per hour with an added bonus for employees with 100% attendance. PFG pays overtime after 40 hours in a week. There are many jobs available including, production line workers, supervisors, secretaries, data entry, quality control, mechanic helpers, forklift drivers, and others depending on age and experience. Day shift and night shift hours run from 7 to 5 with 3 breaks during the regular shift, Monday to Saturday.
This year, for the first time, we are hiring youth age 15 to work on the production lines. They will work shorter hours than regular workers, according to state regulations, but could earn a sizable wage during a 4 week season and still have time each day for other activities.
Applications can be found online at: www.paysonfruitgrowers.com or by visiting the office at 1201 west 800 south in Payson, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. You can also call or text 801-465-9242 for more information.
