Nebo School District's Advanced Learning Center (ALC) wrapped up another successful year of its signature program, the Invest Nest Competition! This year's event saw a wave of creative and ambitious business ideas from Utah's high school entrepreneurs, leaving the judges thoroughly impressed.
Investing in the Future
Invest Nest is a program dedicated to nurturing the dreams of student entrepreneurs. Since its inception, it has helped launch over 100 high school student businesses, with an incredible 40+ ventures still actively operating! This year's competition continued that proud tradition, awarding valuable seed funding to fuel the next generation of business leaders.
The Champions Emerge!
Congratulations to Gavin Stewart from Salem Hills High School, who took home the top honor and a life-changing investment of $10,000 for their innovative business Landscaping and Yard Care Business. Paisley Nelson from Salem Hills High School secured a well-deserved $3,000 prize to propel her business idea, or upcycling old clothes into new passion designs. In a close race, Samantha Walker from Salem Hills High School impressed the judges with her graphic design and business start up package idea, earning a $2,000 boost for her venture.
Beyond the Top Three
The competition wasn't limited to just the top three winners! The spirit of innovation extended to all participants, with the top 10 finalists receiving additional funding to fuel their entrepreneurial journeys. Each of these impressive young minds left the competition not only with financial backing, but also with valuable experience and connections formed through the program.
