In March, the Child Nutrition Department of our school district initiated an inspiring initiative: a friendly competition amongst all lunchrooms across the district. The goal was simple—to boost student participation in the lunch program. Comparing the month of February to March, the competition sought to ignite enthusiasm and foster a sense of community among students and staff alike.

The results were nothing short of remarkable. Amongst the participating schools, Maple Ridge Elementary emerged as the clear champion, showcasing an astounding 29% increase in student participation. Such a substantial leap not only reflects the dedication of the lunch staff but also shows the enthusiasm and engagement of Maple Ridge students.

The prize for this remarkable achievement? A well-deserved treat awaited the winners. Maple Ridge Elementary's lunch staff were rewarded with a delicious lunch from Zupas, enjoyed in the faculty room amidst camaraderie and celebration. While the lunch staff was eating their lunch, the Child Nutrition Department served the students of Maple Ridge lunch and cleaned the lunchroom after lunchtime was over. Their efforts truly exemplify their commitment to the well-being of our students and the success of initiatives aimed at promoting healthy living.

Together, let us continue to prioritize the well-being of our students, nurture healthy habits, and celebrate the achievements that propel us towards a brighter, healthier future.
