Rotary visiting ALC

Spanish Fork Rotary members scheduled their meeting around the Nebo School District’s Advanced Learning Center (ALC) this past month. The members were surprised to learn about all the offerings to Nebo students that attend Nebo’s traditional high schools.

Rotary member and recently retired airport manager, Cris Child, said, “This is just amazing that students can come here and take aviation courses and get a feel for flying in this state-of-the-art full motion flight simulator. What a great thing to be a part of.”

“It was a privilege to have the Rotary join us for lunch at the ALC. The ALC  provides Nebo School District students with amazing opportunities. Several of our students were able to share some of the highlights that they have enjoyed while attending the ALC. Students and faculty always appreciate being able to share with others what the ALC has to offer. We appreciate the interest that the Rotary members showed and especially taking time to learn more about our programs. It was a great day at the ALC!” exclaimed Ronda Hair, the Advanced Learning Center Career Coordinator.

The Advanced Learning Center (ALC) provides early college and career courses for high school students while students stay involved at their traditional high school.  The ALC offers a wide variety of courses including: aviation, computer programming and repair, digital media, audio engineering, video production, medical science, criminal justice, building construction, engineering, robotics, manufacturing, and teacher education. For more information, students should visit with their high school counselor, or the ALC counselor at (801) 423-7029, or go to the ALC website at: http://alc.nebo.edu.
