Nebo Appoints Three New Principals

Clint Cornwall – Principal of Art City Elementary
The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Clint Cornwall as the Principal of Art City Elementary for Nebo School District. 

Clint earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Utah Valley University and a master’s degree in Educational Administration from Southern Utah University.

Mr. Cornwall has served as the Title I Coordinator for Taylor Elementary for the past five years. He taught third, fourth, and fifth grades at Cherry Creek Elementary for five years. He is endorsed in English as a Second Language (ESL) and taught in the Migrant Summer program for four years.

Clint was honored with the Crystal Apple Award in 2017 from Cherry Creek Elementary and PEAK in 2022 Award from Nebo School District.
                            
A colleague said, “Clint possesses great leadership qualities and has effective communication and interpersonal skills. Clint is organized and committed to build effective collaboration and collective capacity throughout the school. He has good judgement and considers the rights and concerns of others and makes timely decisions. Clint will be successful in all that he does.”

One of Mr. Cornwall’s favorite quotes is from Stephen Covey, “Leadership is communicating to people their worth and potential so clearly that they come to see it in themselves.”

Clint said, “As an administrator, I will strive to lead by example. I have been fortunate in learning many leadership skills from those I have worked with over the years. The colleagues, students, and parents I've worked with have taught me and supported me to become the person I am today. I will ensure that all students feel safe, supported, and successful. I am humbled and look forward to working with the staff, students and community of Art City Elementary. Go Eagles!!”

Clint is married to Jeni, and they have four children. He enjoys snowmobiling, exercising, camping, and playing games with family and friends.

Marcy Caldwell – Principal of Canyon Elementary
The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Marcy Caldwell as the Principal of Canyon Elementary for Nebo School District. 

Marcy earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Mathematics Endorsement from Utah Valley University and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Brigham Young University.

Ms. Caldwell has been the Facilitator for Meadow Brook for the past two years. She taught second and fourth grades at Spring Lake Elementary for six years and was a music planning technician at Salem and Spring Lake Elementary for two years.

Marcy was honored with the Future Teacher of the Year Award from Utah Valley University and the Crystal Apple Award from Spring Lake Elementary.

A colleague said, “Marcy has a high level of dedication and commitment to education, students, and to her community. I am impressed with her depth of understanding regarding educational issues and teaching pedagogy. When dealing with difficult issues, Marcy speaks with clarity and great love. She is thoughtful, organized, positive, loyal, trustworthy, and exemplifies professionalism in all she does.”

One of Marcy’s favorite quotes is by Kid President, “Be somebody who makes everybody feel like somebody.”

Marcy said, “It is a great pleasure to be an educator in Nebo School District, and I want to thank you for this incredible opportunity. I am excited, grateful, and humbled to have the opportunity to be appointed the Principal of Canyon Elementary and work side by side with the educators, parents, students, and community to continue a legacy of engaging in a collaborative culture of deep learning. I want to thank my wonderful principals, colleagues, and friends for the positive impact you have had in shaping my journey in education. I also want to thank my family for always encouraging me, believing in me, and giving me their constant support. I am excited to begin this adventure that will engage and empower our Nebo students to become positive leaders of tomorrow. ” 
                            
Marcy has six children and two grandchildren. She enjoys being outdoors, playing sports, being involved with music, baking, learning new things, and spending time with her family.

Penny McEntire – Principal of Orchard Hills Elementary
The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Penny McEntire as the Principal of Orchard Hills Elementary for Nebo School District. 

Penny earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Utah Valley University and a master’s degree in Education Leadership from Southern Utah University.

Mrs. McEntire served as the Title I Coordinator for Park Elementary for the past two years. She served as an Instructional Coach for East Meadows and Canyon Elementary Schools for five years. Mrs. McEntire taught reading recovery, Kindergarten, and third grade at East Meadows for nine years and first grade at Canyon and East Meadows for two years.

Penny was honored with the 2021 Crystal Apple Award for Park Elementary, the 2016 Crystal Apple Award for East Meadows Elementary, the 2020 Nebo Hero Award, and the 2017 Nebo PEAK Award.

A colleague said, “Mrs. McEntire is an instruction leader. She is extremely dedicated to the education profession and puts in many long hours. Penny is one of the most humble humans. She is friendly, kind, and willing to listen to others. Penny always puts others first and makes everyone feel valued and appreciated.”
                                    
One of Penny’s favorite quotes is from Maya Angelou, “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”

Penny said, “I am appreciative of this assignment and thrilled to work alongside the students, teachers, and community of Orchard Hills Elementary. As an educator, I value the roles of each of these stakeholders in relationship to the academic, social, and emotional growth of each student. It is my pleasure to add my skill sets and my experience to the wonderful faculty, staff, and students at Orchard Hills.”

Penny is married to Merlin; and they have four children and two grandchildren. Penny loves spending time with her family in the wonders of nature. Together they enjoy hiking and riding on ATV trails. (She often does this with a good audio book!) Additionally, Penny is talented with painting, restoring furniture, and creating different baked goods.
