Lindsey Hughes

The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Lindsey Hughes as the Customer Experience Specialist for Nebo School District.

Mrs. Hughes has served as the Principal of Park Elementary in Spanish Fork for the past three and a half years. She served as a Title I Coordinator at Barnett Elementary and was a facilitator at Spring Lake Elementary. Mrs. Hughes taught sixth and fifth grades at East Meadows for eight years.

Mrs. Hughes graduated with a Bachelor’s of Elementary Education degree from Brigham Young University and a Master’s of Education with an Administrative License from Southern Utah University.

Mrs. Hughes was honored as the Instructional Leader of the Year in 2021 and Rookie Principal of the Year in 2018. She guided Park successfully out of the Comprehensive Support and Improvement status, moving from the bottom 5 percent of all Title I schools in Utah to the top 15 percent in three years. Park moved from an F grade to a B grade.

A colleague said, “Lindsey is extremely organized and willing to do anything asked of her. She is passionate about education and excels at helping students and teachers be the best they can be.”

One of Lindsey’s favorite quotes is from Maya Angelou, “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”

Also, Lindsey said,“I believe that real adult learning happens when we are able to rumble with each other and determine what is best for students. Every child deserves to learn, grow, and succeed regardless of their circumstances. We, as educators, need to believe in ALL of our students--ALL means ALL!”

Lindsey enjoys riding horses, reading, playing games, and baking homemade pizza in our pizza oven. She especially enjoys attending her boys’ football and lacrosse games and her daughter’s clogging competitions. Lindsey is married to Daron Hughes, and they have four children.
