The Shadow Mountain team presented to the Nebo School Board of Education this past month.

Shadow Mountain is a Nebo sponsored summer camp for fifth-grade students going into sixth grade in the fall.  The students spend three exciting days at the Shadow Mountain Camp and participate in many activities including: archery, leatherwork, campfire programs, hiking to the lake for the Polar Plunge, star gazing, and the most awesome Slip-and-Slide east of the mountains.

During the Board presentation Shadow Mountain director, David Jex, stated “This past summer, the camp was increased from 85 students per session to 120 per session. I love my staff. They bring ‘everything’ they have to camp. These students deserve the greatest experience ever at camp, and they received it!”

After the inspiring video shared by the Shadow Mountain staff to the Nebo School Board of Education, President Christine Riley said, "My only regret is that we cannot send every Nebo student to Shadow Mountain!"

Parents, watch for communication from your school for your fifth-grade student to enroll. It should be sometime in April with registration the first week of May 2022.

The staff at Shadow Mountain include: David Jex, Jake Provstgaard, James Frankowski, Benjy Frame, Jane Wilkins, Sam Child, Manae Madsen, Callie Teemant, Janessa Spanheimer, Nickie Carter, Jake Gundy, Gabe Small, and Brady Magoffin.

Camp director, David Jex, said, “Thank you to all those who make this Nebo summer camp possible including: Nebo School Board of Education, Superintendent Rick Nielsen, Matt Gledhill and staff, Darald Miller and crew, Keith Argyle, Alan Ashton, Scott Carson, Linda Mortensen, DeDe Depew, Shawn Rawlings, and Dave Rowe. It takes everyone to pull this off.”

Congratulations to Jennelle Youngs for answering this week’s “Where are we Wednesday?” challenge sponsored by Wiggy Wash.
