Nebo School District Welcomes 260 New Teachers - Answer to Wednesday Challenge

Submitted by lana.hiskey on

During this unconventional time, Nebo School District started this week preparing approximately 260 new teachers to Nebo. The new teachers arrive from various universities around the state including: Utah Valley University (UVU), Brigham Young University (BYU), Southern Utah State (SUU), and Utah State University (USU). Some graduate from universities outside the state. All seem to be thrilled to start their career with students.

These new recruits have spent the last couple of days cramming to learn all about Nebo and prepare for their students that will be arriving on Wednesday, August 19. Multiple training sessions were held to keep the new teachers safe through physically distancing and wearing face coverings.

“Thank you for your significant work supporting students and families during these past several months. Your accomplishments as a Nebo education community continue to be absolutely miraculous. We are all acutely aware that our magic must continue into this next school year,” stated Superintendent Rick Nielsen to all employees. “Be the Magic: Mindful, Appreciative, Gritty, Innovative, and Caring.”

Let’s make 2020-21 a magical year.

Congratulations to Amber North for answering this week's "Where are we Wednesday?" contest sponsored by Wiggy Wash.
