Nebo Students and Educators Visit Capitol Hill - Answer to Wednesday Challenge

Submitted by lana.hiskey on

Many of Nebo’s fifth-grade students have the opportunity to go to the Utah State Capitol to listen to and ask questions of our elected government officials. Thank you to our teachers that make this educational opportunity possible. Here are a couple of our schools that have already taken this opportunity.

Sage Creek Elementary
Representative Francis Gibson warmly received Sage Creek fifth-grade students on in his office at the Utah State Capitol. It was an honor and a privilege to visit the capitol during the legislative session and have our students be announced on the House floor!

(Representative Gibson mentioned Sage Creek Elementary in his weekly email.)

Representative Gibson said, “Visit from Sage Creek Elementary 5th Grade Class. On Thursday, a group of 96 fifth graders from Sage Creek Elementary took a visit up to the Capitol. I had the opportunity to answer some of the questions that they had about how the legislative process works and what exactly goes on during the 45 days we have each General Legislative Session.”

Spring Lake Elementary
Spring Lake Elementary students visited the State Capitol and had a Live Facebook post listening to Senator Deidre Henderson and Representative Marc K. Roberts. Go to Spring Lake’s Facebook to view the video.

Nebo also appreciates our educators taking time to visit with our elected government officials. Each year educators participate with Educator on the Hill. Thank you for all your service.

Congratulations to Jared Massic for answering this week’s “Where are we Wednesday?” sponsored by Wiggy Wash.
