In 5th Grade this week, we have students visiting from BYU who are exploring the education field. In Mrs. Melander’s class, they guided her students in engineering contraptions for an egg drop. Mrs. Melander’s students had a budget to purchase materials to build their contraptions with like cardboard, marshmallows, popsicle sticks, and bubble wrap. They could even purchase a practice Easter egg. This was a great challenge of testing our ingenuity and making improvements! #FalconStrong #TogetherWeFly

For Veterans Day, Mrs. Reynolds class had a very special veteran visitor, her dad! We loved hearing the story he read and his own stories from his time in the Air Force. Mrs. Reynolds class is very grateful for all veterans! #FalconStrong #TogetherWeFly

We look forward to seeing you all at SEP conferences. Don't forget to sign-up!

In 3rd grade, Mrs. Jumonville's class is studying about Ancient Rome. They took turns reading aloud about Roman Gladiators, while being dressed as Roman Gladiators. They had so much fun reading for the class, and wearing the Gladiator helmets. #FalconStrong #TogetherWeFly

Students worked with partners to unscramble sentences and practice using the correct subject-verb agreements. #FalconStrong #TogetherWeFly

Book Fair Starts Tomorrow

For World Kindness Day, Mrs. Jumonville's 3rd grade class chose kindness by writing kind notes to each other. As a class, they wrote over 100 notes to other students in the class to share kind words with each other. The smiles on their faces as they read kind notes written to them, or wrote them for others lit up the school. #FalconStrong #TogetherWeFly

Mrs. Johnson’s class is experimenting with how speed and mass relate to energy transfer.

Happy World Kindness Day! 🌎☺️
Today, our students focused on spreading kindness! Here's what they did:
✨ Each class read and signed the Kindness Pledge, committing to make a difference. You can see these pledges proudly displayed outside their classrooms!
✨ Students received Kindness bracelets to remind them to spread joy. Each student was encouraged to do at least one kind act today.
✨ A special note was sent home inviting families to join in! Parents can snap a photo of their child doing something kind and send it to Ms. Ledingham. We'll feature these heartwarming moments on our website, and students will get a small prize!
✨ Teachers also received fun Kindness Challenge cards and watched a short video on how kindness can create a ripple effect.
Check our stories for highlights of all the incredible acts of kindness from our falcon families! 🦅💛 #FalconStrong #KindnessDay

In Miss Christensen’s class, we wrote down what we are thankful for on our handprints! Then we decorated our door using our thankful handprints as feathers for our turkey!

Wear red, white, and blue tomorrow!

With the arrival of November, students in Mrs. Gurney’s class have been decorating their own gratitude journals. This activity has been a fun chance for students to be creative as well as an opportunity for them to cultivate an attitude of thankfulness each morning. These journals will serve as a daily morning work task throughout the month, the personal touches added by each student will surely inspire a deeper connection to their daily reflections and foster a sense of gratitude that extends beyond the classroom.

With the start of November, we are excited to have different activities at our school to celebrate Veterans Day. One of the activities we do is create a Veterans Wall with all the Veterans our students know. Attached is a form to fill out if you know a Veteran and want to recognize them on our Foothills Veterans Wall.
Once you have it filled out, turn the paper into the office. We will be accepting Veterans' papers through the upcoming week.
Thanks for your help with this! The students love reading about all the different Veterans!

Mrs. Gammell's class has been learning about energy and how it can be transferred. Our class built a small rollercoaster and sent marbles down it to see if we could transfer the energy to another marble. We love science!

Mrs. Staheli's class practiced making a ten to help us add bigger numbers. We pretended to be in a bus and only ten people were allowed on the bus.
