Mrs. Marrott

Today is Constitution Day, and students across the Nebo School District are bringing history to life!

Throughout the district, schools are celebrating with special assemblies, patriotic colors, classroom activities, and opportunities to read and learn about the U.S. Constitution.

In Nicole Marrott’s kindergarten class at Sierra Bonita Elementary, students welcomed two very special guests, Betsy Ross and John Hancock. Students spent time learning about the Constitution and what it means to establish rules and principles that everyone agrees to follow.

They then put that idea into action by creating and adopting their very own classroom constitution, giving these young learners a hands-on connection to what they were learning.

The class also learned a little about the Liberty Bell and our nation’s flag before finishing the celebration by creating their own edible American flags.

It was a memorable Constitution Day and a wonderful example of learning coming to life in classrooms across Nebo School District.
