Presented by the Deseret News, First Lady Abby Cox’s Show Up For Teachers initiative, Ken Garff for Good, and the Robert H. and Katharine B. Garff Foundation, the highly selective awards celebrate Utah’s most impactful educators and the businesses that champion them. Mollie was one of just 20 outstanding educators from across the state chosen by a panel of judges for making "astronomical impacts" on the communities they serve.

Mollie's road to the award began right at home at Barnett Elementary. She was nominated by her colleague and fellow Barnett SLP, Liz Hunt—a testament to the strong culture of support and collaboration within Nebo's schools.

"She has done exceptional work at Barnett," shared Lorie Reese, who celebrated the win alongside Mollie's family. "I'm just so proud of her."

The recognition extended beyond the gala itself. Earlier this summer, Mollie participated in a survey and video interview with the Deseret News, sharing her insights on navigating the Utah education system and her deeply rooted passion for why she chooses to serve students every day.

On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, the celebration culminated in a beautiful banquet at The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. Accompanied by her husband, her mother, and her nominator, Liz Hunt, Mollie was recognized during a special video tribute highlighting her exceptional work.

The evening featured remarks from Utah Governor Spencer Cox and First Lady Abby Cox, both of whom expressed deep gratitude for educators who go above and beyond to shape the character, literacy, and futures of Utah’s children.
