Jordan Smith

The Nebo School Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Jordan Smith as the Assistant Principal of Salem Junior High, effective July 1, 2026.

Mr. Smith’s journey in leadership began at Brigham Young University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in History while competing as a student-athlete on the BYU Football team. He later transitioned his competitive drive into the field of education, earning a Master of Education in Administration from Southern Utah University.

Jordan brings 10 years of dedicated service within the Nebo School District to his new role at Salem Junior. His career has been defined by his ability to build strong, grounded relationships with students:

  • In the Classroom: Began his career at Spanish Fork High School before moving to Payson Junior High, where he spent eight years as an impactful Social Studies teacher.

  • Administrative Leadership: Most recently, Jordan served as the Dean of Students at Valley View Middle School, where he was a key member of the leadership team.

Known for his "straight-talk" and genuine compassion, Jordan has earned the respect of colleagues across the district. One colleague shared:

“I have worked closely with Jordan in a variety of administrative situations. He is consistently fair, caring, and straightforward with students, parents, and faculty. He builds meaningful connections because people know he genuinely cares. He is a valuable addition to any administrative team."

Jordan is married to Lauren, and they are the proud parents of three sons. Much of his joy outside of school comes from the sidelines, where he loves coaching his sons' various teams. When he isn't on the field, Jordan enjoys the peace of working outside in his yard and is almost always listening to music.

Inspired by the mentors who guided him from the football field to the front office, Jordan’s mission as an administrator is to make a life-changing, positive difference in the lives of every student he serves. He believes that building a foundation of trust is the first step toward student success.
