The Nebo School Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Jen Gasser as the Assistant Principal of Mt. Nebo Middle School, effective July 1, 2026.
Ms. Gasser’s academic career began at Utah Valley University, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (K–6). Committed to school-wide leadership, she later attended Southern Utah University to achieve her Master of Education along with her Educational Leadership Endorsement.
Jen brings 17 years of extensive educational experience to this new role, including 11 years of dedicated service within the Nebo School District. Her career has been marked by a passion for both foundational literacy and student advocacy:
Elementary Roots: Spent six years in the classroom teaching second and sixth grades at Brockbank and Rees Elementary schools.
Secondary Transition: Moved to the middle level at Diamond Fork Middle School, where she shared her love for literacy as a reading teacher for two years.
Administrative Leadership: For the past three years, Jen has been a key leader at Payson Junior High, serving the students and staff as their Dean of Students.
Jen’s excellence in the classroom was professionally recognized in 2018 when she was named Teacher of the Year. A colleague spoke to her readiness for this new administrative chapter:
“From mentoring students to training faculty, Jen has demonstrated a deep desire to learn every facet of school leadership. I have truly enjoyed working with Jen and know she has exactly what it takes to be an effective and inspiring leader."
Jen is married to Ben, and they are the parents of three children: Parker, Adyson, and Xander. When she isn't at school, Jen loves traveling with her family, reading, and collecting seashells. For a bit of mystery and intrigue, she also enjoys listening to true crime podcasts.
Jen is guided by the wisdom of Ralph Waldo Emerson:
"The only person you are designed to become is the person you decide to be."
Reflecting on her mission, Jen shared that she aims to help both students and staff believe that their current circumstances are not their final destination. She believes everyone has the power to "write their own story," and she is eager to support the Mt. Nebo Middle School community in doing just that.
