The Nebo School Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Marilyn Morgan as the Assistant Principal of Mapleton Junior High School, effective July 1, 2026.
Mrs. Morgan’s career began with a passion for the arts, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Utah State University. To further her impact on school culture and leadership, she later attended Southern Utah University, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.
Marilyn brings 16 years of diverse and energetic service within the Nebo School District to her new role. Her career has allowed her to connect with students through creativity, school spirit, and leadership:
Early Career: Began her journey at East Meadows Elementary as a Music Specialist, fostering a love of the arts in young learners.
Secondary Arts & Athletics: Transitioned to Payson High School, where she served as the Choir Director and Cheer Coach, leading students both on the stage and on the sidelines.
Administrative Leadership: For the past two years, Marilyn has been a key member of the leadership team at Salem Hills High School, serving with distinction as the Dean of Students.
A recipient of the Crystal Apple Award, Marilyn is known for her tireless work ethic and her ability to execute a vision with efficiency. A colleague shared:
"Marilyn is an outstanding person of character and an extremely hard worker. She is an integral, indispensable part of my team who consistently gets things done efficiently and effectively. Her reliability and passion for education are evident in everything she does, and I have no doubt she will make significant contributions to Mapleton Junior High."
Marilyn is married to Russell, and they are the proud parents of eight children and six grandchildren. In her downtime, she continues to fuel her creative spirit by singing and performing. She also loves to read and travel with her large, growing family.
Marilyn’s mission is centered on the individual student. She believes that the heart of education is "finding the one"—supporting the student who may not yet see their own potential. She is guided by a favorite saying of her husband, Russ:
"Creating little moments of magic for each person who comes my way!"
She looks forward to bringing that "magic" and a focus on student strengths to the faculty and student body at Mapleton Junior High.
