The Nebo School Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Courtney Packard as the Assistant Principal of Spring Canyon Middle School, effective July 1, 2026.
Ms. Packard began her educational journey at Utah Valley University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She later expanded her expertise in student support by attending Lamar University, where she achieved her Master of Education in Professional School Counseling.
Courtney brings an impressive 12 years of diverse service within the Nebo School District to her new leadership role. Her career has allowed her to support students at every stage of their development:
Elementary Foundations: Began her career in the classroom, teaching at both Meadow Brook and Brookside Elementary Schools.
Secondary Counseling: Transitioned into school counseling, where she dedicated eight years to the students of Maple Mountain High School.
Specialized Support: Served as the Alternative Programs Counselor at the Advanced Learning Center (ALC) before moving into administration.
Administrative Leadership: Most recently, Courtney has been a key member of the Spanish Fork High School administrative team, serving as the Dean of Students.
Courtney’s dedication to student success and career development has earned her several prestigious honors, including:
Nebo PEAK Award (October 2022)
Utah ACTE Career Counseling Development Award (February 2023)
USCA School Counselor of the Year Honorable Mention (2024–2025)
A colleague spoke highly of her transition into this new role:
“I cannot say enough about how capable Courtney is. She sees what needs to be done and simply does it. She is incredible with students and parents alike; they leave her office knowing they have been heard and supported. I am fully confident she will be an excellent Assistant Principal."
Outside of her professional life, Courtney enjoys the simple pleasures of a good book, warm weather, and summer sunsets. She finds her greatest joy in making memories with family and friends, traveling, and discovering new music.
Courtney’s leadership is guided by the words of Henry David Thoreau:
"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you’ve imagined."
Reflecting on her journey, she shared: "I’d like to thank my family, friends, mentors, and coworkers for believing in me, trusting me, and encouraging me to do the hard things. Without them and their support, I wouldn’t be where I am today."
