2025 HS Math Competition

High school students from across the district recently participated in the 2025 High School Math Competition, which included individual and team-based challenges designed to highlight advanced mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Students completed the American Mathematics Competitions Test (AMC 10 and AMC 12), a nationally recognized exam that assesses critical thinking and problem-solving ability. In addition to the individual tests, students also participated in a team competition, with Payson High School earning first place overall.

The top twelve individual performers in the district were: Brayden Barney, Beckett Mickelson, Jordan Coxson, Marshall Kimber, Sophia Cragun, Anna Kent, Kai Sheffler, Connor Simons, Justin Garcia, Spencer Gee, George Bassett, and Gage Osborn.

The competition was made possible through the dedication and support of high school coaches Trina Ward (SFHS), Christie Tolbert (SHHS), Justin Meyer (PHS), Thomas Marker (MMHS), and Marie Condie (SHS), along with district math specialists Eva Serr, Anne Purcell, and Nicole Berg. The district also extends appreciation to community volunteer Brian Boring for his support of the event.
