Tying Quilts

Stepping through the doors of Landmark High School on Monday, January 12th, one could immediately sense a vibrant energy that set this day apart from the usual routine. This was the day the Landmark Dragons engaged in a meaningful day of service. As part of the Volunteer for Good service initiative, students dedicated five hours to various service activities, which they could log for scholarship opportunities.

The range of service projects allowed students to contribute in diverse and impactful ways, including:

  • Assembling food kits for the Dragon Pantry

  • Creating learning kits for elementary-aged students

  • Preparing the Landmark greenhouse for Spring

  • Crafting felt hearts for trauma kits

  • Making dog toys

  • Coloring flashcards for young children

  • Cutting shopping bags to weave sleeping mats

  • Tying quilts

  • Putting together birthday kits

  • Volunteering at the Food Bank

  • Playing games at an Assisted Living Center

  • Reading to students at Riverview Elementary

These activities not only benefited the community but also provided students with valuable experiences in service and teamwork.

Thank you Landmark Dragons for your service!!!
