Grant Award

The Nebo Education Foundation (NEF) recently brought smiles across the district, surprising six outstanding educators with grants designed to boost student learning, creativity, and well-being. The grants, totaling over $5,000, fund everything from musical instruments to sensory support, directly enhancing the classroom experience for hundreds of Nebo students.

  • Cultural Arts Growth: Tiffany Jacobson at Mt. Nebo Middle received a significant grant to purchase Mariachi Instruments, expanding cultural arts education and providing students with a unique musical opportunity.

  • Career & Technical Skills: The funds awarded to Brian Davenport at Landmark High will purchase Video Production Equipment, giving students crucial, hands-on experience in modern media and communication fields.

  • Wellness & Inclusion: Shelby Gatherum’s grant at Payson Junior High will be used for Sensory Room Supplies, creating a safe, calming space where students can regulate emotions and improve focus.

  • Literacy Foundation: Multiple grants were awarded for literacy, including large amounts for new books for both Salem Elementary (Shelly Schwendiman) and Mt. Nebo Middle (Melanie Wirfs).
