The Nebo Education Foundation awarded six grants to schools in the northern part of Nebo School District on Wednesday, supporting a variety of projects aimed at enhancing student learning and engagement.
At Maple Grove, funds were allocated for books, with Jeri Thompson, Angela Jenkins, Sasha Tew, Amy Cook, Jen Wimmer, and Bethany Brown receiving a grant of $965.50. Additionally, Gary Bernard secured $150 for reference books to enrich the school's resources.
Maple Mountain High School received a significant grant for purchase of a marimba , with Nicholas Jackson initially asking for $3,000. The school also received $850 from the Foundation to purchase a new printer, helping to support day-to-day educational activities.
Sage Creek Elementary was granted $400 to purchase Chinese New Year costumes, enhancing cultural celebrations and student involvement during the holiday festivities.
Finally, Springville High School received $340 for novels, providing students with diverse reading options that promote literacy and interest in reading.
