We had the privilege of hosting State Senator Mike McKell on Friday, September 26th. September was designated as "Legislator Month in the Classroom," and we were thrilled to have Mike visit us for a couple of hours.
Our visit commenced at Payson High School, where Mike was able to tour the new, beautiful, and stunning building. He was serenaded by the choir, which was very impressive. He also spent time with the Student Council, FFA Officers, and a few students from the social media team. The students asked him questions about our state, education, agriculture, cell phones, and happiness. Our students are incredible and represented Payson High School and Nebo School District exceptionally well!
After Payson High School, we proceeded to Spring Lake Elementary, where Mike visited with the principal while taking a tour around the school. He sat with a Kindergarten class for a while and was quite entertained! He also called a student to the principal's office over the intercom, which might have been a highlight for him!
We want to thank Senator McKell for spending some time in Nebo and invite him to come back whenever he'd like!
