Hey Makers, Tinkers, and Curious Kids,
We are inviting YOU to become more tech savvy.
As part of a three year grant with the STEM action center, Ms. Whiteside and Mrs. Nederhand (of Salem Hills High School) are offering a fall workshop on Artificial Intelligence and facial recognition.
Join us on Tuesdays for nine weeks (9/16-11/11) to get hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi’s, computer vision, and machine learning. No previous coding experience is required.
Each week, from 2:45-4 pm, our group will expand our programming skills and understanding of AI. We will be using Raspberry Pi 5’s with the AI kit and the Experience AI curriculum developed by Google and Raspberry Pi. We have several guest speakers zooming in from Industry, BYU, and UVU that will join us throughout the program.
Students who participate will receive a t-shirt. Join as an individual or with a group of friends. If you ride a bus home from school, no worries! We will have a bus that runs after our workshop ends on Tuesdays.
If you want to know more, feel free to attend either of our parent/community meetings, Sept. 4th at 5:30-6:00 in the Salem Jr High Library or Sept. 11th at 5:30-6:00 in the Salem Hills High School Library.
