The Payson community gathered tonight, May 19, 2025, at 6:00 PM, for the grand opening of the brand new Payson High School. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as students, parents, faculty, and community members stepped inside the state-of-the-art facility for the first time during the official Open House event.

Ribbon Cutting Program

Superintendent Rick Nielsen welcomed attendees, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Payson High. The ceremony continued with a Flag Ceremony and Pledge of Allegiance led by Student Body President Kaleb Dymock. The Payson High Choir then provided a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem and another special musical number, showcasing the school's talented students.

Principal Jesse Sorenson addressed the crowd, sharing his vision for the future of Payson High within its modern walls and expressing his gratitude for the effort that brought the new school to fruition. A unique and spirited musical performance followed, courtesy of the Payson High Bagpipe Band, adding a touch of tradition and flair to the celebration. Board Member Scott Wilson and Superintendent Rick Nielsen both took to the podium once more, offering their perspectives on the significance of this new facility for the students and the wider Payson community.

The culmination was the Ribbon Cutting ceremony, officially marking the opening of the new Payson High School. The open house allowed everyone to explore the modern classrooms, innovative learning spaces, and enhanced facilities that will be a part of the educational process for Payson High students for generations to come.principal speaking
