"Follow Your North Star" served as the theme for the Salem Hills High School Commencement Exercises, held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Utah Valley University's UCCU Center. The ceremony celebrated the accomplishments and promising futures of the Salem Hills High School Class of 2025, the proud Skyhawks. The school's mission to "educate and empower ALL students to explore, succeed, and positively impact the world" was evident throughout the program: Anchored in Integrity, Empowered to Succeed, and Focused on our Future.
The commencement began with the traditional processional of the graduating class, accompanied by the Symphonic Orchestra's performance of "The Grand March" from Tannhäuser by Richard Wagner.
Senior Class President Addison Webster warmly welcomed the attendees. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Tayten Banks, followed by a musical number from the Concert Choir, which performed "We Are the Skyhawks" with words and music by Justin Bills. Valedictorian Sean Perry and Salutatorian Tyler Ekstrom then delivered their thoughtful and inspiring addresses to their fellow graduates and the audience. The Symphonic Orchestra continued the musical program with a beautiful rendition of "Farandole" by Georges Bizet, arranged by Merle Isaac. Haley Varela, the RISE Award Recipient, shared her unique perspective, followed by further remarks from Senior Class President Addison Webster. The Concert Choir then performed "And Wherever You Go" by Douglas E. Wagner.
