4th grade

Our fourth graders enjoyed a visit from Loveland Living Planet Aquarium, where we learned all about animal adaptations. Students explored how an animal’s structure supports its function and helps it survive in its environment. We also learned about four types of living organisms and six major habitats found in Utah.

Michael and Luke brought along some special animal guests for us to observe and meet: Newman the tiger salamander and Willow the garter snake. As we interacted with these animals, we discussed their unique structures, how those structures function, and the adaptations that help them thrive.

Students also participated in fun, hands-on games to deepen their understanding. We played a “Guess Who?” style game focused on animal adaptations, and students applied what they learned by creating their own animals designed to survive in a specific habitat.4th grade4th grade4th grade4th grade4th grade4th grade4th grade
