Nebo School Board Appoints Ben Ford as Assistant Superintendent

Scott Wilson, the current Assistant Superintendent will be retiring at the end of June, so the Nebo School Board of Education appointed Ben Ford as the Assistant Superintendent for Nebo School District.

As Assistant Superintendent, Mr. Ford will oversee evaluations, school community councils, strategic planning, boundaries, safe walking routes, school trust land monies, principal training, administration handbook, communications, technology services, and the IMC services.

Mr. Ford earned his bachelor’s degree in English and history from Brigham Young University. He earned his master’s degree in Education Instruction from Oregon State University and received his Education Leadership certification from Brigham Young University.

Mr. Ford was recognized as the Administrator of the Year by the Utah Music Educators Association. He was also involved in the Payson City Strategic Planning. 

Mr. Ford served as the Administrator for the Peak Center and the Advanced Learning Center (ALC) for the past four years. He served as Principal of Payson High for six years and as assistant principal for twelve years. Mr. Ford taught English and history at the junior high and high school levels. He worked seven years in other districts for a total of thirty years in education. 

A colleague said, “Ben is a great leader. He is dedicated to students and is committed to helping them achieve their goals. He is a problem solver and has the ability to make others laugh in difficult situations. Ben will do amazing things as the Assistant Superintendent.”
                            
Ben said, “I look forward to educate, inform, and inspire students and staff in the Nebo School District through the power of relationships and creative minds coming together to provide a solid and equitable education for all students in south Utah Valley. ”
                        
Ben enjoys building things and hanging out with his family. He is married to Jo Lynn. They reside in Payson and have four children Taylor, B.J., Alex, and Jake.
