Hunter Moses, an entrepreneurship student at the ALC won the Big Shot Pitch Competition. He received $250 for his first-place finish. All of Nebo School District’s CTE programs participated in the expo, including Business/Marketing, Health Sciences, Skills & Trades, Family & Consumer Science, Ag Science, and Technology & Engineering students.

Hunter presented Mrs. Ewell with one of his beautiful hand-turned pens for instrumental encouragement on creating a professional pitch deck presentation.

“It's all thanks to Mrs. Ewel,l” said Hunter of his win.  He excited to buy more supplies with his winnings for his entrepreneurial venture, Inkwell Penz (inkwell_penz).

Students in Mrs. Ewell's Entrepreneurship classes use idea generation techniques to create “problem-solutions” for themselves, and their community. The students gain an understanding of the marketing and management principles necessary to start and operate their own business. In this exciting course, students also develop an awareness of their economic role as an entrepreneur through project-based learning.

This is just one of the many classes offered across Nebo School District in our high schools and the Advanced Learning Center.
