June 2019 Nebo PEAK Award Winners

THE PEAK AWARD CUSTOMER SERVICE PROGRAM
Nebo School District wants to showcase our Positive Energy and Kind employees. PEAK Awards are nominated by patrons and recognized by the Superintendent Staff and Nebo School Board of Education. The award is administered by the Communications and Community Relations Department.

Nedra Call, Curriculum Director, Nebo School District
Nominated by: Nebo District Employees

“Nedra Call is an amazing administrator, mentor, and friend to all! Nedra is one of the most positive people that we have ever met. Her smile, work ethic, and positive attitude have had a tremendous impact on Nebo School District.

“Nedra has worked for Nebo District for over 35 years. In all of that time, we have never known Nedra to say no to any assignment that is asked of her. Whatever the assignment is, she consistently gives 110 percent.

“Nedra is one of the hardest working, most caring people you will ever meet. She makes everyone around her feel special and welcome and has a talent for making all types of situations comfortable and enjoyable for all involved. She truly loves and cares about Nebo District and the people in it, whether they are an adult or a child.

“Nedra will leave a legacy of hard work, kindness, and caring for others. Simply put, if there were more people like Nedra Call, this world would be a much better place to live in.”

“Chris provides daily exceptional service to the students, faculty, and community of Payson High as he unconditionally serves. He is an advocate for students. Chris is out and about visiting with students and asking them about their day. As an avid hiker, Chris implemented the National Parks tours, which has been an awesome experience for our students and faculty. Thank you for being a Nebo Hero!”

Starr David, Teacher, Cherry Creek Elementary
Nominated by: Jolene Hale & Bethany Clark

“Starr values each individual in her classroom. She takes the time to understand each child’s personality to know how best to work with them. One of the most helpful things that she does is to build their confidence, so that they are more excited about learning and are more willing to put in the effort to work hard. Ms. David took the time to call me and tell me how much she appreciates my son. She shared some of his strengths and challenges. Ms. David is truly an asset to our school and community.”

“Starr is an incredible example of being kind, happy, upbeat, positive, helpful, accepting, loving and so much more. I will forever look up to Starr and her ability to make others smile.”

She knows how to make others feel loved and important. Vonna makes an effort to know all the kids and even what they order for lunch. Vonna ALWAYS has a compliment for teachers as they take their students through the line. She will even do a little dance to make us smile. Vonna cares and loves everyone at Park View Elementary!”

Jill Hanks, Facilitator, Mt. Loafer Elementary
Nominated by: Karlee Gull, Sarah Sumsion, Jessica Root

“Jill worked tirelessly to help all her new teachers get set up and be successful. She is friendly, helpful, and patient. She is one that the teachers can count on when problems arise or when teachers need new ideas to help students succeed.”

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This initiative is designed to focus on "raising the bar" on providing exceptional customer service, both internally and externally. A key component of this initiative is the development of the PEAK Award. The PEAK (Positive Energy and Kindness) Award is presented monthly to someone in the Nebo School District who "really gets it" when it comes to providing exceptional customer service, which in turn results in positive impacts on everyone including students, parents, co-workers and members of the community.

Who Gets Nominated?
Faculty and staff members are nominated by anyone in the community through the Nebo School District website, www.nebo.edu/PEAK wherein a special Customer Service link is provided. The directions as to how to nominate an employee for the PEAK Awards are clearly spelled out on the site. All nominations must include information on how the individual has provided exceptional customer service, as well as how the employee's actions impacted the nominator's overall perception of Nebo School District Schools. The name and contact information of the nominator must be included.
