The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Liz Blanton as the Assistant Principal of Mt. Nebo Junior High for Nebo School District.

Liz earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Utah Valley University with a Special Education license and her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Brigham Young University.

Mrs. Blanton served as the Assistant Principal at Salem Hills High for the past three years. She served as the Dean of Students at Landmark High School, taught special education at Oakridge for three years, and at Salem Hills High for three years.

Mrs. Blanton’s said, “I believe that all students can learn. I believe that if we help students to feel safe and confident that they can grow and flourish in our schools. I believe that all students need an advocate.”

An administrator said, “Liz is such an outstanding and talented administrator. Truly, she is a go-getter and natural leader with tremendous work ethic. Liz is a great communicator and is able to ask difficult questions while keeping things calm.”

Liz leads and blesses others lives in education outside the United States. She has a nonprofit school in Ghana named McCarthy Hill School in Accra and one in the former Yugoslavia. She gives scholarships to people who want a better education and are willing to stay in their countries or origin.

One of Liz’s favorite quotes is from Blessed Mother Teresa, “Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile.”

Liz loves calligraphy, volleyball, and being in the mountains. She is married to Noel; and they have five children.

“I have had great role models in education my whole life, starting with my own parents and grandparents. I have had many amazing mentors in this district, and I feel immense gratitude for the patience and wisdom of my colleagues,” said Liz. “I am excited about my new adventure! I look forward to adding a little red to my wardrobe! Go Panthers!”
