KSL Teacher Feature - Perry Ewell
Spring Lake Elementary had a surprise visit from KSL NewsRadio and Zions Bank.  One of our very own Spring Lake Elementary teachers, Perry Ewell, was nominated and selected  as an outstanding teacher and awarded the “Teacher Feature.”  The “Teacher Feature” program recognizes teachers who have gone the extra mile and made a significant impact on the lives of those they teach.  Hundreds of teachers are submitted for the “Teacher Feature” and just one is selected each week.  Mr. Ewell was awarded a plaque along with several gift certificates including dinner at the Roof Restaurant, an overnight stay at the Anniversary Inn, season tickets to Hale Center Theatre, and the chance to win a brand new car.

Mr. Ewell was nominated by Emily Hadlock, a parent of one of Mr. Ewell’s 5th-grade students.  This is what she had to say, “Mr. Ewell does an amazing job of teaching a love of learning as well as inspiring his students to learn more about the world around them...He makes his lessons fun and pulls a lot of real world knowledge into his discussions...Mr. Ewell teaches his class life skills that are invaluable. He starts off each day with a moment of silence for the kids to reflect on their day and the things they want to accomplish.  He teaches the kids accountability for their actions and responsibility for their own actions...Mr. Ewell goes above and beyond exposing his students to culture and the arts...We love Mr. Ewell and couldn’t have asked for a better teacher for our son.”  Way to go Mr. Ewell!
