THE PEAK AWARD CUSTOMER SERVICE PROGRAM
Nebo School District wants to showcase our Positive Energy and Kind employees. PEAK Awards are nominated by patrons and recognized by the Superintendent Staff and Nebo School Board of Education. The award is administered by the Communications and Community Relations Department.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This initiative is designed to focus on "raising the bar" on providing exceptional customer service, both internally and externally. A key component of this initiative is the development of the PEAK Award. The PEAK (Positive Energy and Kindness) Award is presented monthly to someone in the Nebo School District who "really gets it" when it comes to providing exceptional customer service, which in turn results in positive impacts on everyone including students, parents, co-workers and members of the community.

Who Gets Nominated?
Faculty and staff members are nominated by anyone in the community through the Nebo School District website, www.nebo.edu/PEAK wherein a special Customer Service link is provided. The directions as to how to nominate an employee for the PEAK Awards are clearly spelled out on the site. All nominations must include information on how the individual has provided exceptional customer service, as well as how the employee's actions impacted the nominator's overall perception of Nebo School District Schools. The name and contact information of the nominator must be included.

January 2014 PEAK Award Winners:

Eric Ferrin, Mathematics Teacher, Spanish Fork Junior
Nominated by: Paul Nelson
“Mr. Ferrin helps every person in the school with technology problems. He is also involved with parents and the community in many areas. I have listened to him deal with parents, and he will always respond in a thoughtful way.”

Katherine Beck, Facilitator, East Meadows Elementary
Nominated by: Shannon Hales
“Katherine Beck is always upbeat and positive about everything that goes on at our school.  She goes the extra mile to make sure that all the teachers have what they need to be their best.  Katherine offers great advice and is a master at talking to parents and students.  She is a shining example of what a true educator should be.”

Noralee Bird, Counseling Secretary, Mapleton Junior
Nominated by: Anonymous
“Nora Bird is the first person new students meet when they come to register. Not only is she outgoing and friendly, but she also helps the students and their parents feel comfortable when they walk in her office. This year there were a record number of new student move-in's. Mrs. Bird took the time to sit down with each student and their parents, provide them with all of the information they needed in a friendly, professional manner, and help them get ready for the new school year. This required more than just getting them a locker and register for the right classes. Additionally, Mrs. Bird helped prepare them emotionally as her outgoing personality got them excited for the new year.”

Joy Maughan, Secretary, Maple Mountain High
Nominated by: Kristie McMurdie
“Joy is always willing to help. She has a smile on her face all the time. She takes the time to make others feel welcome and that their needs are important.  I always like to talk to Joy. She makes me happy.”

“I have never met a more polite and kind individual.  Joy can take any situation and add a positive spin on it.  She can calm people down and lift them up at the same time.  She truly is amazing! When teachers are new to a building – there are a lot of questions.  Joy welcomed every one and never acted annoyed.”

Kath Bringhurst, Payroll Clerk, District Office
Nominated by: Shelia Shaw
“Every day Kathryn has a smile and a very positive attitude.  She greets all patrons and employees that come to the district office very promptly and always cheerful.  With all the changes in benefits, ie: PTO, insurance, work status classifications, and not to mention taking over where Marie Ashworth left off without missing a beat, she has delivered  exceptional customer service.  Kath is accurate in making sure each employee is paid correctly. She is never too busy to answer a question or help someone understand changes in policy.  Kath is always very kind to ALL those she works with in the district as well.  She has been this KIND employee for the past 15 years. What a great face for the FINANCE Department!”
