Utah’s First Lady Abby Cox hosted a Show Up for Teachers conference on July 12, 2022, to focus on the mental health and well-being of Utah Educators presented by Clark and Christine Ivory Foundation.
First Lady Abby Cox stated, “A statement from our 2021 Utah Teacher of the Year, John Arthur, ‘Honestly, mentally unwell teachers cannot teach children to be well,’ struck my heart profoundly.
“Over the last few years, Utah’s educators have been under especially tremendous stress. Through every twist and turn, you have done your best to be resilient and selfless. You have sacrificed so much. And you’ve shared with me that these experiences have taken a real toll on you. I believe and see this and have resolved to use my platform to do what I can to help.
“As Utah’s First Lady, I am honored to host Show Up for Teachers, a conference completely focused on the mental and emotional well-being of Utah’s educators. It is my sincere hope that Show Up for Teachers and our continued efforts will give you, our Utah educators, access to meaningful resources that you can take home with you to improve your lives and the lives of those around you – and we’ll have a lot of fun while doing so!”
Many Nebo educators participated. We have just a few photos to share. Thank you, Utah’s First Lady Abby Cox, for valuing our Nebo Educators.
