The Springville/Mapleton Chamber honored the Clyde Companies as the Business Partner in Education Award. This is the first time the Chamber has given this worthwhile award. The Clyde Companies include: WW Clyde, Sunpro, Sunroc, Geneva Rock, IHC Scott, Bridge Source, GWC Capital, and Beehive Insurance to name a few.

Lana Hiskey, Community Relations Administrator for Nebo School District, presented the Business Partner in Education Award to Elsie Powley, a representative of the Clyde Companies. President Jeremy Hafen was out of the area and could not make the awards banquet.

When presenting the award, Lana Hiskey stated the following:
“The Clyde Companies truly live their motto: “Building a better community.” They donate to six universities in the state: Utah Valley University, Utah State University, Brigham Young University, Southern Utah University, University of Utah, and Utah Tech University (formerly known as Dixie).

“I believe the Clyde Companies know and live by, ‘Our students of today will be our business and civic leaders of tomorrow.’ Another inspiring quote by Nelson Mandela is: ‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world!’

“The Clyde Companies are helping to change the world. They have been instrumental in helping the Nebo Education Foundation raise funds since 2002 (20 years) for our 35,000 students and 4,500 employees in the Nebo School District.

“Just over a year ago, President Jeremy Hafen of Clyde Companies reached out to professional golfer Tony Finau and his foundation and asked for help to fund grants for our less fortunate students. The Nebo Education Foundation received a sizable donation of $10,000 for our students, all thanks to the vision of the Clyde Companies leaders.

“Each year many of the employees and leaders at Clyde Companies help the Nebo Education Foundation sponsor a golf tournament at Hobble Creek Golf Course. It is a highlight to bring together businesses and supporters of education.

“The education of our students is much more enhanced with the support we receive from business partners like the Clyde Companies. These generous business donors truly make a significant impact on our teachers and students.

“Thank you Clyde Companies for all your support over the years with the Springville/Mapleton Chamber and for being a wonderful partner in education.”
