Nebo Student Named Top National Semifinalist in Science & Engineering

Salem Junior Student Hannah Coyne

Hannah Coyne, an eighth-grade student at Salem Junior, was named as one of 300 national semifinalists in the Broadcom MASTERS Science and Engineering Competition in 2021.

Hannah’s science project titled: “Meltdowns and Media: Does Technoference have an Impact on Infant Behavior?”

Mrs. Kate Elliott was her science teacher and is so proud of her. She said, "I'm just so excited for Hannah and this honor."

Society for Science and Broadcom Foundation are proud to announce the Top 300 competitors in the 2021 Broadcom MASTERS® — the nation’s premier STEM competition for middle school students. The Broadcom MASTERS seeks to inspire young scientists, engineers and innovators to solve the grand challenges of the 21st Century. Of Top 300 MASTERS, 58.7% are girls while 40.3% are boys.  The students, selected from 1,841 entrants, come from 41 states, plus Guam. More than two-thirds of the MASTERS (206) go to public school.
