Goshen Presents to the Nebo School Board of Education

During the Nebo School Board of Education meeting on December 11, a group of Goshen faculty and students presented to the board of the wonderful enrichment activities happening with students.

Principal Lynette DeGraffenried proudly mentioned to the board that Goshen might be small in numbers, but they are mighty. She then introduced her guests to the board.

Rachel Pipkin, a parent and part of the School Community Council, shared some of her thoughts on Goshen elementary, “Goshen is a wonderful school, it feels like home there, and students are becoming more and more excited for school.”

Through programs that the community council is implementing Rachel can see the light in the students’ eyes as she notices the difference Goshen programs are making in their learning experience.

Tanya Curley, the advisor of the After-School Club, started the club for the first time this year. Ms. Curley shared how she noticed that the After-School Club continues to make a difference in the lives of students. She shared that having a place for students to go after school has been a positive thing and creates a safe space for them to stay after school hours.

Students are loving the activities. Emma Pipkin, a third grader, and Katie Pipkin, a first grader, shared their experience with the new club. The students participate in yoga, games, cooking and baking, STEAM projects, and cultural projects. The goal of the After-School Club is to inspire and enable young people. It is easy to see that the club is making a difference and has a positive impact on Goshen students.
