Students at Rees Elementary showcased their achievements at Nebo School District’s December board meeting.

Principal Adam Gull introduced the Rees students as well as the School Community Council member Wendy Mason. Students and faculty of Rees Elementary have worked hard to achieve their school’s mission statement: “Working together to ensure all learners reach their full potential.” With the goal of increasing literacy among students this past year, teachers and coaches track student literacy, use tier two intervention as needed, and utilize a district phonics program. Additionally, individual teachers offer help to students through a coaching cycle.

Through their efforts, there has been a 14 percent increase in students making typical progress and a 3 percent increase of students who benchmarked on grade level.

Members of Rees’ Elementary student council presented a video about S.O.A.R., which stands for serve and support, own our actions and words, aim high and achieve, and respect.

Rees’ Elementary student choir, comprised of over thirty members, delighted the board and audience members as they beautifully sang, “When Christmas Comes to Town.” Rees Elementary students are great examples as they soar high to achieve success.
