Safety is a priority of Nebo School District officials, school principals, teachers, and staff.
East Meadow’s Principal Dwight Liddiard, sixth-grade teachers, and the student council along with the entire student body raised $1,001.10 to donate to the “Warm the Soles” campaign directed by Nebo Credit Union.
Jenn Sorenson and Deana Coates, fifth-grade teachers at Park Elementary, and Kelly Cole, Honors U.S. History at Diamond Fork Junior, were selected as grant recipients to participate in the Summer 2013 Field Study with Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute and sponsored by Driven 2 Teach.
Nebo School District received many entries for the Nebo School District Christmas Card. This year, junior high students competed for this honor. The first place winner is Camry Young from Spanish Fork Junior. Mr. Hughes-Millman is her art teacher.
L. Kobie Wilkerson, award winning author, visited eight elementary schools to teach about writing and share his love of reading and education.
Students at Park View Elementary and Wilson Elementary received a wonderful surprise from KSL Chopper 5. It landed at Park View Elementary about 1:20 in the afternoon in connection with the Read Today program supported by Mayor Rick Moore, the city council, and local businesses.
The Federal Agriculture Secretary, Tom Vilsack, told Congress in a letter Friday that the Agriculture Department will do away with daily and weekly limits of meats and grains. Several lawmakers said they are hearing from constituents who say their kids are hungry at school.
Art Meets History, a Utah Arts Council Traveling Exhibition Program exhibit, is for public view at Mapleton Elementary.
