Answer to Wednesday’s Challenge 9/11/13

John DeGraffenried, Secondary Director, introduced the Future Farmers of America Club and advisor, Monica Giffing. He mentioned that Ms. Giffing was awarded the Outstanding Agricultural Teacher for Utah. Mr. DeGraffenried said, “Ms. Giffing is very deserving of this award. She has worked in this field for 20 years and works hard. She also loves the students.”

Springville High’s FFA Club presented to the Nebo School Board of Education on Wednesday night. About 15 students presented their own Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) projects that they had worked on all year. These included: steer production, raised show lambs, worked at Rocky Mountain Large Animal Clinic, trained jumping horses, coordinated community garden, raised show stock, taught horse riding lessons, raised hogs, taught scouts, worked on family ranch, coordinated greenhouse, raised honey bees, worked Springville Meats, raised chickens, worked on exotic animal farm, worked on Lama fiber production, worked with falcons, produced 10,000 pounds of produce, and kept records and learned money management.

The students then presented beautiful baskets of produce for the School Board.
