Principal Dave McKee was selected as the Administrator of the Year by the Utah Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association in April.

Dave has been involved in athletics his whole life. Dave prepped at Millard High School while living in Holden Utah, where he lettered in football, basketball and track.   He was All-State in football and the State Champion in the 100 yard dash and State Champion in the pole vault his senior year of high school. Dave earned a full-ride scholarship to play football at BYU where he lettered three years and started at Cornerback for two of those years. Dave was often referred to as “Little Dave, from Holden Utah”.

After BYU, Dave was hired as a defensive coach at Idaho State. He earned his masters' degree in Athletic Administration. Dave was hired to be the head football coach at Payson High School where he coached football, basketball, track, baseball and golf for the Lions over a period of 19 years. Mr. McKee also taught Japanese for 14 of those years.

In 1994, Mr. McKee was awarded Utah Foreign Language Teacher of the Year. Dave has been principal at Spanish Fork High School since 2005. Working together, Dave and Doug Snell have made significant improvements in the athletic programs at Spanish Fork High. He absolutely LOVES his job and hopes to stay at Spanish Fork High School as the principal until he retires.

Dave met his wife Jodi (from Spokane, Washington) on a blind date during his last year at BYU. They have a dog, a bird, and two wonderful children, Hunter and McKenzie. They reside in Elk Ridge, Utah.
