Payson Canyon is the gateway to the Nebo Scenic Byway. On your journey you will find Payson's three lakes where adventure abounds. Activities available at the lake include fishing, backpacking, and camping. There are four fully developed campgrounds: Maple Bench, Payson Lake, Black Hawk (horses allowed), and Salt Creek. The roads to this wonderland are open from May to October with snowmobiling available during the winter months.
Payson's recreational facilities include public parks, baseball and soccer fields, outdoor track, 18 hole golf course, public library, movie theater, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, cultural events, and community swimming pool as well as league play and state tournaments in all major sporting events.
