Location
Payson, Utah,
is one of the nineteen incorporated cities that make up Utah County.
Utah County is situated in North Central Utah, and population-wise,
the county is the second largest in the state.
With mountains framing Utah County on all sides, the name Utah Valley
has become synonymous with Utah County and is used interchangeably
throughout the area. The major cities form a 40-mile chain north
to south, aligning with Interstate 15. Utah Lake (the state's largest
body of fresh water) lies in the center of the county. This situation
provides the area with an exceptionally scenic setting as well as
beautiful cool canyons for picnicking, hunting, camping, fishing,
and skiing, and a 14 mile long fresh water lake. Top quality recreation
facilities are just minutes away from any spot in the valley. Payson
is located 60 miles south of Salt Lake City, which hosted the 2002
Winter Olympic Games.
