Assist the SLP with hearing & speech-language screenings (without interpretation).

Speech & language testing with supervision (without interpretation).

Follow documented therapy plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP.

Document student performance (e.g., take and record data, prepare charts, records, graphs, etc.) and report this to the supervising SLP.

Prepare and write progress reports with supervision and review by the supervising SLP.

Assist with informational documentation as directed by the SLP.
-
Assist with clerical duties such as preparing materials and scheduling therapy as directed by the SLP.

Assist with paperwork including entering data such as IEP goals/objectives written by the SLP into Goalview.

Assist in keeping track of IEPs and 3 year re-evaluations coming due.

Be present with the SLP in IEP meetings and sign the IEP as the communication disorders specialist (CDS).

Comply with school regulations and policies-be professional.

Initiate the IEP process or select students for speech services.
-
Release a student from speech services.

Interpret test and/or observation results.
-
Write, develop or modify goals or objectives.
-
Hold and IEP meeting or parent Conference with out the SLP being present.

Counsel or consult with parents or others regarding concerns or the student's status or service other than the homework being sent home or what the parent may have observed in the therapy that day.

Sign any formal documents in place of the SLP.

Disclose clinical or confidential information either orally or in writhing to anyone other than the supervising SLP.

Make referrals for additional service.

Represent himself or herself as an SLP.
