Introduction to performance, with emphasis on pantomime, oral interpretation, improvisation, and puppetry. Fulfills fine arts or language arts requirement. (Grades 10,11,12)
19603DRAMA 2- (2 Semester - 1.0 Credit)
19604Continuation of performing arts, with emphasis on scenes, monologues, theater styles and theater history, make-up, and audition techniques. Fulfills fine arts credit or 12 grade language arts credit. This is an entry-level class for sophomores with extensive theater background. (Grades 10,11,12)
19702DRAMA 3- (1 Semester - 0.5 Credit)
Advanced performance, advanced interpretation and an emphasis on play writing or directing. Fulfills fine arts credit or 12 grade language arts credit. ADMISSION IS BY TEACHER APPROVAL ONLY. (Grades 11,12)
19802DRAMA 4- (1 Semester - 0.5 Credit)
For advanced acting students. This is a senior year culminating project and is repertory in nature. ADMISSION BY AUDITION ONLY to be held in February. Fulfills language or fine arts credit. (Grade 12)
19812SHAKESPEARE IN PERFORMANCE- (1 Semester - 0.5 Credit)
Students will take an in depth study of Shakespeare with an emphasis on performance, understanding text, critical analysis and character development. All students will represent SFHS at the SUU Shakespeare Competition in October. Culminating project will be to perform a full-length Shakespeare play in November. ADMISSION BY AUDITION ONLY. (Grades 10,11,12)
19402TECHNICAL THEATER 1 - ( 1 Semester - 0.5 Credit)
This course covers basic techniques of scenic construction, design, painting and provides an introduction to light and sound operation. Knowledge of tools and shop policies is helpful but not required. All students must be able to pass a safety exam to remain in the class. (Grades 10,11,12)
19463TECHNICAL THEATER 2- (2 Semesters - 1.0 Credit)
19464Continuation of the study of scenic construction, design, painting and the study of light and sound design. Knowledge of tools and shop policies required. All students must be able to pass a safety exam to remain in the class. Students registering for this course should also register for at least one additional semester of Technical Theater 2. PREREQUISITE: TECH 1 AND TEACHER APPROVAL. (Grades 11,12)
19852SPEECH / PUBLIC SPEAKING- (1 Semester - 0.5 Credit)
An introductory course designed to expose students to "everyday" communication and listening experiences, and to build their confidence in public speaking situations. At times current events will be used as material. Language arts or fine arts credit. This is a basic course - good for students with or without drama or debate experience. (Grades 10,11,12)
