The graduation requirement is 2.0 units of credit. Most universities will require 3.0 units.
52542BC Math- (1 Semester - 0.5 Credit)
This course is designed to help the student meet the Utah Basic Skills Competency Test (UBSCT) requirement for graduation. The instructor will use the individual student’s scores from previous tests to focus instruction on passing the test. The study of basic algebra, graphing, geometry, and basic probability are discussed and reviewed in this class. Once enrolled, the student must stay until the end of the semester in which the test is passed. The test is offered only once a semester. Results of the test are given at the end of every semester. Enrollment in this class is determined by the instructor and the school administration. THIS COURSE DOES NOT COUNT FOR MATH CREDIT, but does count for elective credit. (Grades 11,12)
52503ELEMENTARY ALGEBRA (ALGEBRA 1)- (2 Semesters - 1.0 Credit)
52504A course that is fundamental to all further studies in math. Algebra has many applications in science, business, engineering and many other technical fields. (Grades 10,11,12)
53003GEOMETRY- (2 Semesters - 1.0 Credit)
53004 This course contains major axioms and theorems of Euclidean Geometry. There will be some emphasis on geometric proofs with more effort going into real world applications and preparation for trigonometry. The course will help prepare students for the ACT college entrance test. (Grades 10,11,12)
53503INTERMEDIATE ALGEBRA (ALGEBRA 2)- (2 Semesters - 1.0 Credit)
53504This course is an extension of the Elementary Algebra concepts. Prerequisites: Elementary Algebra. (Grades 10,11,12)
54703ADVANCED MATH (PRE-CALCULUS)- (2 Semesters - 1.0 Credit)
54704This class combines college algebra and trigonometry. It will also prepare students who are planning on taking Calculus. The TI-86 graphing calculator is recommended for this class. (Grades 10,11,12)
55003AP CALCULUS AB- (2 Semesters - 1.0 Credits)
55004A college course in calculus. It is designed to prepare students to take the Advanced Placement Test in the Spring. Students planning to take the AP exam will be allowed to use a calculator on that exam. The TI 86 graphing calculator is needed for the course. Prerequisite: Advanced Math.
55013AP CALCULUS BC- (2 Semesters - 1.0 Credits)
55014This is for the advanced math student who will take an accelerated version of AP Calculus AB. If you pass the AP test in the spring it can give you credit for the 2 semester of calculus in college. The TI 86 graphing and calculator is needed for this course. Prerequisite: Advanced Math.
51403APPLIED MATH 1- (2 Semesters - 1.0 Credit)
51404A course emphasizing the applications of math. Many "hands-on" experiences are provided. Use of a calculator is encouraged. This curriculum is designed for those who wish to study the many ways in which mathematics is used in business and industry. It is not a remedial class. Prerequisite: Elementary Algebra. (Grades 10,11,12)
